project sumary: to create a non-fixxed database in sgl server than can accessed via the web or via text message. The database should be able to have data added or changed in the individual lines of data, that function would be done strictly via the web. Most the of the quarries would come via text message.
I think that each line of the table should contain a field for bussiness name, bussiness address, a separate field for zip, another field for key words or an addiontial field for each key word. And a field for advertising text. The final field should be large enough to accomadate 144 charctors of text. The final field will be the one that can change via web interf..ace. Each line in the database represents a bussiness, and each bussiness is a paying customer, which would need the password protected ability to change the data in the final field. How many line of data would the table have to accommendate, a lot there are as many as 14 million users. Remember this system is for people to be able to access the best possable buy via text message.
The typical text mesage would have either the bussiness name with or without zipcode, ie jon smith subs or john smith subs 33405. another text might contain just a key word and zipcode, such as pizza 33405. If a message comes in that's not in either format the send shoulder receive a message intructed them to resubmit in the proper format, please include the zip code with this request.
The person requesing the info would receive the bussiness buy of the day. Which would be contained in one of the fields in the database
To me what the database is being asked to deliver is not all that much, the part that might be tricky is when a request comes in. That request would have to coupled with the right lin in the table to pull the responce from. But even that is limited because we limit the parameters for the question. Anything that doesn't fit gets an auto responce please resubmit in the proper format. The data is not changed by the requests, your only polling data. The only changes are thru a password protected interface, what's difficult is the fact that data could be added at the same time data is being polled. Plus you got to figure that you should create a table that can handle multable requests at once, many multables actuallly, maybe you set a que like staging area for requests. You got to figure at least ten percent of the requests will get kicked out with an auto responce because of bad format. The api's might be tricky maybe not.
