Project scopes:
1. Adding ability to assign 1 or more root category with all the subcategories to admin users so they will only see what the main admin will assign to them.
Solution variation possibilities:
1. Expected look should be something like below when selected 2 root categories.
2. Only 1 root category is selectable from dropdown menu
In both cases the main admin should be able see and have access to all the categories as before.
2. Using the multi Website feature of Magento users should be able to login on any website front of the installation and with the same UN/PW combination. Only one registration should be made that is valid for all the stores. So 1 UN/PW for all the websites within the installation.
3. once logged in on one website front the login the login information should be accepted by all the other websites but in case of navigating from one website to the other additional information like shopping cart content should be lost!!!
Final notes that I believe would help with the development:
• all the websites will be under the same domain but under different sub-domains.
• This will be one Magento instance with multi website layout.
